Why It Works

 

Colloidal Silver is not only an antibiotic, but also an antiviral, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial as well. It will kill any single cell organism on contact. Period. Silver interrupts the bacteria cell’s ability to form the chemical bonds essential to it’s survival. These bonds produce the cells physical structure so when bacteria meets silver it literally falls apart.(1.) “The bactericidal happens by oxidizing the anaerobic pathogenic bacteria. They die within short periods mentioned above and don’t hang around long enough to figure out what happened and how to resist the silver. What About The Intestinal Flora?

 

“Some speculate that colloidal silver doesn’t affect the intestinal flora balance because of colloidal silver’s rapid assimilation from the gastrointestinal (GI) tract into the blood stream. Therefore. it doesn’t linger in the GI tract long enough to adversely affect the intestinal flora balance. But this is speculation. Most colloidal silver long term users agree that maintenance dosing may not affect the intestinal flora balance, since most of it gets absorbed into the bloodstream before having time to do much damage in the small and large intestines.” (2.)

“Generally speaking, good bacteria are aerobic, they use oxygen, while pathogenic bacteria are anaerobic, they thrive without oxygen. Danish medical scientist Dr. Hans Christian Gram, who developed the staining techniques of determining gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

It was also determined that probiotic bacteria were positively charged to enable oxygenation. This positive charge repels colloidal silver ions that are also positive charged. Conversely, anaerobic pathogenic bacteria are negatively charged, thus attracting the positive charged silver ions.

It’s not a matter of “intelligence” that allows colloidal silver to seek out mostly pathogenic bacteria, it’s a matter of electrical physics, positive and negative charges. Pharmaceutical antibiotics just bump into whatever bacteria is around and inhibit their growth to the extent that enough chronic use inhibits some probiotic bacteria from returning even after antibiotic use.” (3)

Colloidal Silver Shelf Life 

What is equally amazing as it’s healing properties are it’s shelf life! You can buy in bulk (since it’s great for anything and everything) and know that it isn’t going to go bad any time soon. Colloidal Silver will last indefinitely when stored properly. Do not refrigerate or expose to freezing temperatures as the silver particles will fall out all together creating a clear, ionic solution which is still great for topical use but not as effective when used internally. Everyday Uses For Colloidal Silver 

Without further or due let’s talk about some real, everyday stuff that we can use Colloidal Silver for. (I could write a much shorter article on what it can’t be used for)

1. Burns – You might not think of your skin as an organ – like a kidney or a heart but in fact it is. It is the first line of defense our bodies have against germs and viruses. Regardless of the severity of the burn, Colloidal Silver is the first line of defense for treatment being that it will kill off any microbes present that could lead to an infection, help eliminate some of the pain, and speed up the healing of the tissues. Just recently I was burned severely by coconut oil cooking our eggs sunny side up on too high of heat. It was actually multiple burns that splattered across my entire abdomen. I sprayed silver on immediately and throughout the course of the next few days. I also broke off a leaf of my aloe vera plant (the very best investment) and applied which took the pain away almost instantly. I continued applying the fresh aloe gel in the morning and in the evening for the next few days. The rate of my healing was phenomenal, within 7 days you couldn’t tell anything had ever happened! 2. Colds– Quite contrary to all the misinformation about Colloidal Silver, it can be taken internally with amazing healing benefits. And no, you won’t turn blue. Every person and situation is different so the dosing will not be the same for everyone. When treating anything therapeutically, use the therapeutic dosage suggestion on the label of the bottle which requires taking it more frequently throughout the day, preferably on an empty stomach to be quicker absorbed in the bloodstream. For treating children, use a 1/4 of the adult dosage.
3. Urinary Tract Infections – The bladder and the urine it holds are normally free from bacteria and other organisms. A urinary tract infection occurs when organisms are introduced into the bladder. Bacteria from the skin may enter through the urethra. The urethra is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. Organisms can also enter the bladder on urinary catheters. Bacteria in the bladder are usually flushed out when the person urinates but if bacteria multiply faster than they can be removed, a UTI results. I personally used to get them way more frequently than I’d like to admit. At least one every couple of months and they are extremely unconformable. I don’t know how any person could maintain daily life with a UTI as I was literally camped out next to my toilet– I even kept a pillow and blanket in the bathroom with me so I wouldn’t have to walk as far to the bathroom as often as I was having to go. When I started using Colloidal Silver the UTI’s went away–COMPLETELY. I haven’t had one since I was in high school and I’m now 26!
4. Ear Ache – Although ear pain happens more frequently with children, it also happens with adults as well. In fact, just the other day my husband complained of severe ear pain (of course you know my suggestion—put some silver in it!!) There are many causes for ear aches. They can be a sign of a cold, flu, or infection in the body. It could also be something more simple as a buildup of earwax or a change in air pressure. The pain can range from dull, sharp, to stabbing or burning and can come in waves. Colloidal Silver can be very effective in treating ear aches, especially if the root cause is microbial or due to an infection somewhere in the body. I would recommend taking silver internally throughout the day as well as letting it sit in the ear canal for a few minutes in the morning and evening. (you really can’t do it too much, if it’s providing pain relief you can let it sit in there as often as you’d like throughout the day)
5. Yeast Infection – A vaginal yeast infection is an excess growth of yeast cells in the vagina. Yeast infections are very common in women of childbearing age but can occur at any age. Although they can very uncomfortable, vaginal yeast infections rarely lead to serious health problems.A healthy vagina normally contains many bacteria and small numbers of yeast cells. The most common bacteria found in the vagina, Lactobacillus acidophilus, help prevent other organisms, such as yeast, from growing in excess and causing an infection. About 70% to 90% of yeast infections are caused by a strain of yeast called Candida albicans.When there is a change in the normal balance of organisms in the vagina, yeast can overgrow, causing symptoms. This imbalance can be caused by many factors, including use of broad-spectrum antibiotics for other conditions, high estrogen levels (as during pregnancy or hormone replacement therapy), or certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or HIV infection. Colloidal Silver is also an anti-fungal which means it can treat yeast infections too, stopping their growth and replication the same way in which it inhibits a microbes.
6. Pets – yes, Colloidal Silver works wonders for your furry family members as well! You can put it in their water bowl or if they will let you squirt some in their mouths directly. We have used Silver for our pets for years and have seen it work miracles first hand. Our dog Bailey had developed several large tumors on his behind which made it very painful for him to use the bathroom. We started applying silver directly on the masses with a pump spray cap and gave him the Silver internally every day for several months. One day we noticed that the tumors were going down and were almost unnoticeable! And he was no longer having discomfort using the bathroom, we knew we had Colloidal Silver to thank. 7. Acne – there’s nothing more annoying than acne. It seems like a simple ailment to have compared to others but for a young man or woman in school it can be a living nightmare. People with acne frequently have a variety of lesions. The basic acne lesion, called the comedo (KOM-e-do), is simply an enlarged and plugged hair follicle. If the plugged follicle, or comedo, stays beneath the skin, it is called a closed comedo and produces a white bump called a whitehead. A comedo that reaches the surface of the skin and opens up is called a blackhead because it looks black on the skin’s surface. This black discoloration is not due to dirt. Both whiteheads and blackheads may stay in the skin for a long time. There are dietary, genetic, and hormonal factors that make acne worse in some than others but there are a few things that can be done for treatment and Colloidal Silver is one of them. Keeping the surface of the skin free of excess oils and bacteria will greatly help reduce the amount and severity of acne. 8. Colitis – Ulcerative colitis is a disease that causes inflammation and sores, called ulcers, in the top layers of the lining of the large intestine. The inflammation usually occurs in the rectum and lower part of the colon, but it may affect the entire colon. Ulcerative colitis rarely affects the small intestine except for the lower section, called the ileum. Ulcerative colitis may also be called colitis, ileitis, or proctitis. Theories about what causes ulcerative colitis abound, but none have been proven. The most popular theory is that the body’s immune system reacts to a virus or a bacterium by causing ongoing inflammation in the intestinal wall. People with ulcerative colitis have abnormalities of the immune system, but doctors do not know whether these abnormalities are a cause or a result of the disease. Ulcerative colitis is not caused by emotional distress or sensitivity to certain foods or food products, but these factors may trigger symptoms in some people. 9. 10. Sore Throat – Sore throat is a symptom of many medical disorders. Infections cause the majority of sore throats and are contagious. Infections are caused either by viruses such as the flu, the common cold, mononucleosis, or by bacteria such as strep, mycoplasma, or hemophilus. While bacteria respond to mainstream antibiotic treatment, viruses do not. Unless your using Colloidal Silver that is, which also eliminates viruses. Sore throats accompany other viral infections such as measles, chicken pox, whooping cough, and croup. Canker sores and fever blisters in the throat also can be very painful.One viral infection takes much longer than a week to be cured: infectious mononucleosis, or “mono.” This virus lodges in the lymph system, causing massive enlargement of the tonsils, with white patches on their surface and swollen glands in the neck, armpits, and groin.
