Chromium with Crominex
Chromium GTF is a complex known as Glucose Tolerance Factor and is made by fermenting nutritional yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) with chromium. Chromium GTF facilitates the transport of glucose into cells by insulin.
\r\nGTF Chromium supports the following systems:\r\n1. Cardiovascular System\r\n2. Lymphatic System\r\n3. Epthelial (skin) System\r\n4. Hormonal System\r\n5. Muscular System
\r\nChromium is a mineral that humans require in trace amounts, although its mechanisms of action in the body and the amounts needed for optimal health are not well defined. Glucose tolerance factor chromium, more commonly called chromium GTF, is a mineral that is frequently used in bodybuilding, athletic and weight-loss supplements.
\r\nChromium enhances the action of insulin, your body’s fat storage hormone. Insulin also is needed to metabolize carbohydrates, fat and protein in your body. The naturally-occurring form of chromium is called dinicotinic-acid glutathione complex, or GTF chromium. GTF is different from simple chromium compounds because it is more easily absorbed by your body and safer than other forms, notes John Bertram Vincent in “The Nutritional Biochemistry of Chromium.”
\r\n“Chromium is known to enhance the action of insulin, a hormone critical to the metabolism and storage of carbohydrate, fat, and protein in the body. In 1957, a compound in brewers’ yeast was found to prevent an age-related decline in the ability of rats to maintain normal levels of sugar (glucose) in their blood. Chromium was identified as the active ingredient in this so-called ‘glucose tolerance factor’ in 1959.” source:US National Institute of Health – Office of Dietary Supplements
